We need to create and lead the path to end the blood crises! Hence, it was a real pleasure to be in the organizing committee of the inaugural workshop on optimizing blood safety in Cameroon organized by HERO Cameroon thanks to the ISBT Academy foundation and the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services where 50 participants (donor advocates, clinicians, laboratory scientists, hospital administrators) from 14 different organizations (such as Lifeline, Club25Cameroon, CHU Yaounde, HGOPED) and chaired by the general manager of the NBTS, Professor Dora Mbanya and WHO consultant, Dr. Tapko Jean-Baptiste were trained on efficient donor recruitment and retention strategies.
